Is Elise Neal the new "Single Lady"

Elise Neal and “Single Ladies” actor D.B. Woodside are gracing separate covers of the September issue of Denim Magazine.

It is interesting that Elise would be chosen to partake in a double cover with D.B., mainly because her name has been thrown around as a potential replacement for Stacy Dash, who is rumored to have been fired from “Single Ladies” after the first season.

Elise also has a previous relationship with VH1, the channel that produces “Singles Ladies.” Back in 2009, the actress, along with Melyssa Ford and Claudia Jordan, were working on a reality show for the channel titled “Single, Sexy & Starving.”

So, could Elise take on the role of Val and be believable? Only time will tell.

Its Official, Stacey Dash...No Longer A Single Lady

After weeks of speculation that she was getting fired, Stacey Dash has confirmed that she’s leaving “Single Ladies.”

“I truly enjoyed playing Val on ‘Single Ladies’, but I have decided to leave the show. I have to be back in L.A. with my children right now and the ‘Single Ladies’ shooting location makes that impossible. I wish VH1 the best of luck with the show and in maintaining the strong fan base we developed in season one.”

VH1 responded with the following:

“VH1 respects Stacey’s decision and her commitment to what she feels is best for her family. We thank her for all of her hard work in making ‘Single Ladies’ a success right out of the gate, and we wish her nothing but the best in her future plans.”

*I just hope the replacement they find for Stacey Dash, can act and deliver the emotion and charisma that is needed to continue with the success of Single Ladies.  I love the show, but I really liked Stacey Dash playing Val.*

VH1 Single Ladies is Renewed

VH1 has renewed “Single Ladies” for a second season. So expect to see a lot more of Stacey Dash, LisaRaye and Charity Shea galavanting through Atlanta’s social scene.

The network’s first hour-long scripted series debuted in May to solid ratings, so it’s no wonder Executive producer Queen Latifah said, “My partner Shakim and I are so excited that Single Ladies has been received so well. We knew from the beginning this show was going to appeal to people everywhere; it’s funny, sexy and smart. We are so happy that we were able to join with VH1 to find such a great home for this incredible show.”

The finale of the first season of Single Ladies airs Aug. 8. And a second season will begin filming in late 2011 and air in 2012.

Single Ladies Review

In a two hour long romantic comedy, three friends, Valerie, Keisha, and April, are considered the single ladies who are a part of the who’s who in the Atlanta social scene.

Valerie (Stacey Dash) is the brokenhearted boutique owner who decides to give her boyfriend of five years an ultimatum to marry her. To her surprise he leaves her only to end up proposing to his new girlfriend of three months, played by actress Lauren London.

While Valerie is considered the good girl, Keisha is just the opposite. Played by actress Lisa Raye, she is the video vixen who has a hobby of robbing the rich men that she meets on video sets. But her thieving ways catch up with her as another video vixen begins to blackmail her and she falls in love with one of her victims.

April is somewhat different from the other ‘single ladies’ because of her status and the fact that she’s white.  Not only is she married to one successful black man, she is having an affair with another black man, the married Mayor, played by rapper Common.

If you’re looking for something to quench your need for television (and to support black actresses), this show may do just that.

The familiar cast line-up included, Lauren London, Stacey Dash, and Lisa Raye, other special appearances included Kim Porter, Kandi Burruss, Eve, Common, Pilar Sanders, and rapper Camron.

I've already set my DVR to record this series. I think I'm going to like this one.

VH1 Releases Frist Clip Of Single Ladies

I surely hope this is not all they are giving us for "Single Ladies"?! The preview alone, is NOT selling me on the show (sitcom).
